Primula

Some members of the Primrose Family exude allergenic primin-containing compounds on trichomes (needle-like structures similar to the stings on stinging nettles). In the case of Primroses, the trichomes are passive, and do not pierce the skin or sting, as they do in as they do in Stinging Nettles and some Spurges.

Those members of the Pimrose family that contain primin are Cowslip, Oxlip [not yet linked to] and Drumstick Primrose (a garden flower) are decidedly dermatotoxic, and to a lesser extent Primula [not yet linked to]. There are also a dozen foreign varietries not found in Britain.

Taxonomists have decreed that the following Genera:
Anagalis, Cyclamen, Glaux, Lysimachia and Trientalis
(which used to belong to the Primula Family) should now belong to the Myrsine Family, which is where they will now be found.

And that Samolus Genus (which also used to be in the Primula Family, is now moved into the Theophrastiaceae Family
